I need a baby shower gift for a baby girl but her twin died at birth?
The baby girl still has a long road but her twin brother died at birth. It has been a long road for the entire family and i want to give them a very special gift for the shower, and ideas that would incorporate the other twin?
The couple has tried a long time to conceive, and she was on bed rest for most of the pregnancy. But they still came so early there wasn’t time for a shower.

I would suggest that you dont try to incorporate the other twin into your gift. Its a very sad situation, and the baby shower should be a celebration of the birth of the baby girl.. im nto suggesting that anyone " forget" about the baby boy who didnt survive, but the baby shower isnt the time to bring it up.

You shouldn’t get anything that would bring up the subject of the other twin. Baby showers are celebrations, not funerals. And I’m sorry for their loss.

A gift I have always given at showers, is a massage, pedicure, or manicure of some sort for the mom and/or dad. I’ve even given gift certificates for a restaurant for the parents to have some ‘dating’ time as they did before the baby arrived.
When my friend lost her child, stillborn, I purchased her a nicely decorated gift box. She was able to put all the memories of her son into the box. She put things like the sonograms, his birth certificate, and other memorbilia into the box. From time to time she says she looks into the box and it gives her peace.

Do you know if the family uses some kind of symbol to represent the twin? I know some people are comforted by angels, some like butterflies, etc.
For the whole family, maybe a stepping stone for their garden with a symbol that would represent the lost twin. And if you wanted to include something just for the baby too, you could get a small receiving blanket, or a set of bottles, just something small to accompany the larger family gift. You could also just get something for the baby (blanket, toy, etc) with a symbol that represents the lost twin. You might have to go with something custom made, but also try online stores and you might find something.
Were they able to get any pictures of the twin brother? A handmade scrapbooked photo album would also be a wonderful gift.
I am sorry for your friend’s loss, and I hope the little girl is healthy and able to be home with her family.
